When you get on the Internet and start searching through different websites, what makes you stop at a site, purchase from a site or keep on moving? That is what we are going to discuss today. It is something that you think about when you see that flashy titles and promises that can’t possibly be true. It is something that you think about when you read someone’ s heartfelt story that you know must be true. The difference between the sites is how much trust or how believable the sites is to the visitor.
You must keep this in mind as you create your own site. Just as you make these decisions when you are trolling the Internet, so your visitors are making the same decisions. It doesn’t matter what your visitors are viewing. If they are viewing any item in your marketing attempt, they must be able to feel that they can trust you and what you offer or are trying to tell them and even sell them.
It is not all about the money that they are going to did out of their pocket. The trust comes from the belief that they have when reading your text. Are they comfortable with what you either have to say or have to offer? Do they feel as if you have answered their questions and offered them a solution to their problem? If they can’t or don’t feel comfortable with what you have presented to them, they will move on to the site.
Just as your visitors have to decide whether they can trust your site, Google does the same thing. They will visit your site and based upon a variety of factors, they will decide if your site can be trusted. If Google does not feel that your site can be trusted, then your site will get flagged and you won’t be able to find the site in the Internet listings. In our next post, we will take a look at some things that you should consider when you are designing your site.
